Caddo is spoken by a small number of older
people in Western Oklahoma, USA. Vowels occur both short
and long and consonants may be geminated. Chafe (1976)
analyses Caddo as having a pitch accent system; vowels may
be high or low pitched, and additionally long vowels can
occur with a falling contour.
