Mba-ne is spoken in an area north of Kisangani,
Haut Zaire province, in northern Zaire. Pasch (1986) says
the lower mid vowels may be optional variants though some
words always seem to have higher mid and others lower mid
vowels. Prenasalized stops are interpreted as single
consonants because of lack of other clusters.
